Join us for the next Deep Talks for an update on the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility
Representatives from Fermilab and Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) will provide an inside look at the ongoing construction of the Long-Baseline Neutrino Facility/Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (LBNF/DUNE)—a flagship international project hosted by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Fermilab.
The presentation will highlight the remarkable engineering behind assembling the massive cryostats that will house DUNE’s detectors, with a special focus on how crews transport these components nearly a mile underground through the Ross Shaft at SURF.
Featured speakers:
- Jolie Macier, LBNF/DUNE-US FDC Project Manager
- Sanmitra Pingulkar, Fermilab Mechanical Engineer
- Jeff Barthel, Rigging Specialist
